A Horrid State of Affairs

I lived the last four years thinking that the American people had been cheated in the 2000 elections. I have been forced to realize that I am actually residing in a loony bin.... I apparently don't belong here, as the direction the majority of the US populace desires to follow en masse is in concept and practice so utterly repugnant to me that I find it impossible to fathom or forgive.

I suppose I am fortunate, in that I have the option to leave the country if I desire (we applied for my Swiss residency visa yesterday... just in case...), but the problem is that this election has a broader reach than just within the US borders. The entire world is subject to the repercussions of US foreign policy and military action, and we have just proven that America doesn't give a fuck about anything other than it's own blind and bloated existence.

I am frightened by the looming shape of the next four years, and I fear for the health and stability of our (meaning all who reside on this planet) long term future. I can no longer defend against the stereotype of the ugly brutish American, as that facade rings truer now than any time I can remember. The voter turnout here in the states was phenomenal for the first time in decades, and it only helps to reenforce what many have already known... America seems, on the whole, to be populated by insufferable lumbering half-wits, who unfortunately wield a gigantic and dangerous stick.

Oh the humanity indeed.

Comments

I have this site set up so that all comments must be approved by me before they get posted. I try to use this loosely, so even if someone has differing opinions, I'll still post it.... AS LONG AS THEY USE THEIR REAL IDENTITY!

Yes, yes, your crass and imbecilic attacks can be posted, as long as the idiot behind the comment is not such a sniveling coward that they will use a fake email address and name. If you really have something to say, you need to back it up, otherwise you are just relegated to the scrap heap of slack-jawed, drooling, rabid wingnuts screaming from behind your barrier of electronic anonymity.
