Superhero Supplies
Oh man...Egger's and co. have opened their Superhero Supplies store in Park Slope, Brooklyn. I lived near the pirate supply store on valencia up in SF, and looooved it, and stumbled upon the McSweeney's ephemera store on 7th Ave. in Brooklyn last time I visited. Yeah, Marcella took me down Valencia when I was in SF... she showed me the pirate supply store, the taxidermy flower boutique (my favorite display was the little stuffed mouse, standing in a Hamlet outfit, holding a little mouse skull... Alas, Yorick...) And then there was the science fiction bookstore, run by a young girl with an encyclopedic knowledge of science fiction and horror, and her lovely hairless cat named Ripley.
I miss San Francisco sometimes.
