Mary Hansen of Stereolab killed in accident
from www.stereolab.co.uk : Mary 1/11/1966 - 9/12/2002It is with great regret and deep sadness that I must announce the death of Mary. We will all miss her dearly.
Stereolab | news article link Anyone who peruses my cd collection listing will know that I am a Stereolab fanatic. So while I think the passing on of celebrities is generally not newsworthy, I am extremely saddened by this report. I would just like to voice my sympathies for her friends, family, and fans.

I guess there is no good way to recieve news of a persons passing on, but It just contributed to the shock seeing a random news bite about Mary's death buried within a many other news-ish items on a music web site. I never met Mary, nor could I be considered the ultimate Stereolab fan, but the music did affect me deeply, the live shows I attended garnering my fondest memories, the depth of my fanatacism leading me to acquire over 30 releases by the group.
I have added a download link on the main page (under the "listen" section) to an mp3 of Stereolab - Blue Milk from the new Morvern Callar soundtrack.

I can't beleive it...Im' a die hard fan. I could go into some deep science of music and how they relayed their veiws of many subjects through words and musical instruments. Its heart ache at it's best and worst.

For me it was a shock! I'm a Sterelab Fan from the first hour, and she's the only one I never met. It makes me sick!
